SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sam Keightley delivered a masterclass performance, scoring five goals and dishing out six assists to lead the No. 15 San Jose State men's water polo team (10-11, 1-3 WCC) to a dominant 22-13 victory over Bucknell (11-13, 6-4 MAWPC) to close out the Julian Fraser Memorial on Sunday morning.
The Spartans controlled the tempo from the beginning, outscoring the Bison across every quarter. A dominant offensive explosion saw 10 different Spartans find the back of the net, culminating in a 22-goal output which matches a season-high mark previously set against LIU on Sept. 11.
- Behind S. Keightley's game-leading performance, Samu Biros recorded four goals, Mitchell Keightley netted a hat trick, and Giancarlo Marquez, Kai Lewis and Aidan Johnson each notched two goals.
- Peter Kolos Kohari, Liam Dodunski, Bence Kristok and Aron Sarfalvi rounded out the balanced scoresheet by contributing one goal each.
- Zach Ramans fueled the offensive attack by dishing out a season-high four assists.
- Marquez added an extra edge to the offense and transition game by tallying four kickouts alongside his two goals.
