Chris Wood Season 2019

AT SAN JOSE STATE: In his third season with the Spartans... Competing for any of the three kicking positions... First joined the team for 2019 spring practice... 2019 and 2020 Mountain West All-Academic team honoree.

2020: Served as the team's primary kickoff specialist for the first six games ... Notched a pair of touchbacks.

2019: Was the team's primary kickoff specialist... Had 17 touchbacks and 20 fair catches on 69 kickoffs...  Spartans were 0-for-1 on his onside kick attempts... Credited with two tackles on the season... Had a tackle in the Arkansas (9/21) and Army West Point (10/26) victories.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Was the placekicker and punter for Glendale College (Coach John Rome) in 2018... A second-team American Metro Conference punter... Averaged 39.1 yards per punt... Team ranked sixth in the state in punting average (38.4)... Placed 16 of his 54 punts inside the 20-yard line and was charged with six touchbacks... Had a long punt of 73 yards... Converted 6-of-9 field goal attempts and 12-of-14 PATs... Kicked a 34-yard game-winning field goal with 0:02 remaining in a 27-24 win over Santa Ana College (11/5/18)... Tied for third on the team in scoring with 30 points.

HIGH SCHOOL: Handled the kicking chores for Cresecenta Valley High in La Crescenta, Calif. (Coach Paul Schilling) as a senior... A 2017 first-team All-Pacific League kicker... Converted 46 of 49 PATs and 7-of-9 field goals... Second on the team in scoring with 67 points... Averaged 34.6 yards a punt as a senior... Credited with 51 touchbacks on 70 kickoffs.
