Patrick Markarian was named a San Jose State University football graduate assistant in 2018. Heading into his third season with the Spartans, he works with the offensive coaches and the offensive linemen specifically.
Markarian joined the Spartans after coaching the Fresno City College offensive line in 2017. He began his coaching career in 2015 as a student assistant coach at Indiana State University. In 2016, he was promoted to a graduate assistant position and was responsible for coaching the tight ends and the offensive linemen.
The Fresno, Calif., native was an offensive lineman on the 2012 and 2013 Fresno City College teams that won the Valley Conference championship. He transferred to Indiana State and completed his playing career in 2014.
Markarian graduated from Indiana State in 2015 as a history major.
