- As a senior, he was a second-team All-Bay Area News Group offensive lineman, a San Francisco Chronicle honorable mention All-Metro pick, and a second-team All-Bay Valley League selection
- McNorton also played for Heritage High in Brentwood, Calif., as a sophomore and the first portion of his junior year
