Dave Wojcik completed four seasons (2014-2017) as the San José State University head men’s basketball coach. He finished with an overall record of 32-90 and was 12-60 in Mountain West contests.
In Wojcik’s final season (2016-17), the Spartans finished with a 14-16 overall record and won seven Mountain West games. It was the most wins in a season since 2010-11 when SJSU went 17-16, and seven conference wins were the most since 1996.
During 2016-17 Wojcik was named National Coach of the Week by Hoopdirt.com after San José State defeated San Diego State and UNLV in conference play. The wins were part of a four-game winning streak which included a second win against the Runnin’ Rebels and the programs very first victory on the road at New Mexico.
Wojcik recruited and coached Brandon Clarke who was the Mountain West Sixth-Man of the Year (2016), All-Mountain West First Team (2017) and All-Defensive Team during two seasons at San José State.
Clarke was part of Wojcik’s 2015-16 recruiting class which scored 43.4 percent of the team’s points that year, ranking second only to Kentucky.
