AT SAN JOSE STATE: Wrapped up his first season with the Spartans in 2020-21.

2020-21 (JUNIOR): Played in 15 games and drew nine starts ... Threw down 23 points in Spartan Debut vs. Boise State (1/2) ... Six double-figure scoring efforts ... 18 points with season-best four 3-pointers in win over Benedictine Mesa (1/4) ... 16 points, six rebounds vs. New Mexico (1/23) ... 13 points at San Diego State (2/8) ... Shot 36.2 percent from the floor and 35.4 from 3-point range.

IOWA WESTERN CC: Played one season, his sophomore year in 2019-20, and averaged 10.6 points while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range ... Had 50 assists compared to 31 turnovers ... Had a career-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting with four triples in a win over North Central Missouri College (2/18).

TALLAHASSEE CC: Played for one season alongside fellow Spartan Guard Richard Washington in 2018-19 ... Averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game as a freshman ... Earned an invite to the elite Jerry Mullin Top JUCO Camp in the summer.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played high school ball at Lafayette High School in Louisiana where he frequently squared off against fellow Louisiana product and current teammate Seneca Knight ... As a senior, he averaged 27 points, 10 rebounds and four assists per game ... He also competed in track and field, and was an all-state selection in the high jump. 

GET TO KNOW JALEN: Majoring in communication ... Plans on playing professional basketball after college ... Enjoys playing video games and listening to music in his free time.
