Mueen Ghoury Season 2013

AT SJSU: Completed his second season as a Spartan in 2012.

2012: Competed in five races including the WAC Championship...was the individual runner-up at the Aztec Invitational (9/15) with a time of 28:19.2...fastest 8K time of the year (26:25.8) came at the Bronco Invitational (10/13)...17th place at the Crystal Springs Invitational (10/6)...34th place at the USF Invitational (9/1)...finished 48th with a time of 26:29.96 at the WAC Championship.

2011: Competed in four races during his first season, scoring in three of them...a season-best second place result came at the season-opening Battle of the Bay Invitational...recorded his second top-20 finish with a 14th place result at the UC Riverside Invitational...fastest 8K-time of the season (25:52.9) also came at the UC Riverside Invitational...placed 44th with a time of 29:23 at the Western Athletic Conference Championship.

RUBIDOUX HIGH SCHOOL: Ran both track and field and cross country...Two cross country victories as a senior: first out of 96 at the 2010 Fastback Shootout and first out of 114 at the CIF-SS Divisional Prelims...recorded personal records in five out of six races in 2010 including a 5K best of 15:42...finished in 13th place out of 204 runners in the 2010 CIF-California State Championship...primarily ran the 3200 meter and 1600 meter events in track and field competitions...track and field bests: 1600 meter - 4:25.75, 3200 meter - 9:42.50.

MUEEN: Majoring in kinesiology at SJSU and has career plans for being a chiropractor...favorite activities include watching football, and reading...older brother Mobin Ghoury was also on the SJSU cross country team from 2003-2006...Mueen was born in Corona, Calif., on March 30, 1993...now calls Rubidoux, Calif., his hometown.
