In April 2014, Savio Carrijo was named an assistant coach of the San José State men[apos]s soccer team.
Carrijo, a native of Goiania, Brazil, returns to San José State where he was a three-year member of the soccer team (2005-07) and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science in 2008.
Carrijo has been the head coach of both the men[apos]s and women[apos]s soccer programs at Santa Clara[apos]s Mission College for the past three seasons (2011-13). Prior to Mission College, he worked as an assistant coach at Menlo College, Los Altos High School, Saint Francis High School and Castilleja High School. In addition, he has coached youth teams at the Stanford SC, Palo Alto SC and Mountain View - Los Altos SC.
Carrijo began his playing career in Brazil for Goias Sport Club. He competed for and won three U.S. national championships as a member of World United Futsal and participated in the Intercontinental Futsal Cup in Algave, Portugal (2007).
Following his San José State career, he played for San Jose Frogs FC, a USL League team. Carrijo holds his Premier NSCAA National Diploma and the U.S. B License.
