Nicolas Brenes Season 2019

AT SJSU: Has completed four seasons with the Spartans. 

2020-21: Made eight starts in nine appearances in his senior season ... Finished second on the team in assists (five) and third in goals (three) ... Put up 23 shots with 11 on goal ... Was second in the WAC in shot accuracy (48 percent) ... Enjoyed one of the best starts to the season as anyone in the nation, tallying a goal in each of his first to matches while finishing those pair of contests with five total points ... Played a season-high 93 minutes at Houston Baptist (3/13) ... Was named the San Jose State Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February.

2019: Made 15 starts in 18 appearances in his junior campaign ... Finished second on the team with four goals ... Put up 37 shots with 20 on goal ... Tallied 1184 minutes on the pitch ... Recorded a brace against CSU Bakersfield (9/28) ... Enjoyed one of the hottest stretches of anyone in the country in late September and early October, tallying four goals in three matches against CSU Bakersfield, Kansas City and Houston Baptist. 

2018: 17 appearances and 13 starts as a sophomore ... Scored first-career goal in a 3-1 win over Incarnate Word (10/26) ... Put up 23 shots with 12 on goal ... Tallied 899 minutes on the pitch ... Season-high five shots, three on goal against Cal Baptist (10/14).

2017: Started in two of the 18 matches he appeared in as a true freshman ... Produced a total of eight shots from which two were shot on goal for the season ... Saw 461 minutes of playing time... Recorded one assist.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Leadership Public School in Richmond, California ... Played varsity soccer for four years ... Was back-to-back league MVP ... Was coached by Casey Rummel.
