Craig Von Wielligh joined the Spartan men's soccer staff as a volunteer assistant prior to the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
His first year with the team saw seven Spartans earn All-WAC honors as he helped guide the program to a one-loss season.
Von Wielligh owns over 15 years of coaching experience in South Africa and the US, most recently serving as the Head of Development for Almaden FC (San Jose) and the Head of Performance for the men’s professional team AJAX Cape Town (Cape Town, South Africa). At the club level, Von Wielligh has helped to evolve coaching education and player development methodologies, while coaching top-ranked state & national teams in MA & CA.
A 2008 graduate of Eta College in South Africa, Von Wielligh earned a Coaching Science National diploma with a specialization in Sports Conditioning & Periodization. He is currently completing his US Soccer Federation B license.
His last collegiate coaching experience came at Franklin Pierce, where he served as a volunteer assistant for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Von Wielligh currently resides in San José.
