2018: Appeared in 41 games with 33 starts all at catcher…batted .235 (19-for-81) with nine runs scored and 10 RBIs…had an on base percentage of .337 and slugged .346…was successful in advancing runners at a .395 clip (17-of-43) and drove in a runner on third and less than two outs in both opportunities she had during the year…hit two homer – against Purdue (2/9) and San Diego State (3/16)…each of her home runs were three run shots, which was her season-high for RBIs…had four two hit games – at Cal State Fullerton (3/8), against San Diego State (3/16), at Nevada (4/6) and against New Mexico (4/27)…rapped out doubles at Santa Clara (2/28), at Cal State Fullerton and at Nevada (4/6)…drew 11 walks with a single-game high of two against South Dakota (2/16)…defensively recorded 107 putouts with 16 assists and two errors in 125 chances for a fielding percentage of .984.
2017: Made 37 starts in 41 total appearances…earned 34 starts at catcher and three at designated player…batted .233 (24-for-103) with six runs and 21 RBIs…had five extra-base hits – doubles against Seton Hall (3/9), Princeton (3/23), Loyola Marymount (3/29) and at Fresno State (4/23) and a homer at San Diego State (4/2)…had two four game hitting streaks, a career-high…six times in a game rapped out multiple hits, including a career-best three-hit effort at Fresno State (4/23)…recorded five multi-RBI games with a three-RBI effort against Portland State (2/25) her season and career-best…worked pitchers for a career-high 11 walks, including two vs. Rhode Island (2/24)…with the bases loaded hit .500 (4-for-8)…was successful in advancing runners in 28 out of 74 opportunities (.378) and with a runner on third and less than two outs batted .643 (9-for-14)…finished with a .305 on base percentage of and a .301 slugging percentage…had 182 putouts with a career-high 13 vs. Detroit (3/4) and 23 assists with two errors.
2016: Appeared in 38 games and made 30 starts, all behind the plate…batted .269 (18-for-67) with 13 runs and eight RBIs…slugged .463 and had an on base percentage of .344…eight of her 18 hits were for extra bases (five doubles, one triple and two home runs)…best day at the plate was a 3-for-3 effort at Colorado State (4/3) in which she scored twice, drove in a run on a solo homer and also had a double…also scored twice against UNLV (3/29) and at Boise State (5/6)…multi-RBI efforts came versus UC Santa Barbara (3/18) and Seattle U (3/20)…triple came versus LIU Brooklyn (2/26)…longest hit streak of the season was three-game.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate of Central High School in Fresno, Calif....four-year letterwinner (coach Scott Gorton)…earned team MVP in 2015 City/County All-Star Softball Game going 3-for-3 with three RBI…a Fresno Bee Fab-50 All-Star Team selection as a senior…three-time All-Tri River Athletic League performer and two-time All-Valley honoree.
ALYSSA: Majoring in psychology...plans to pursue a career as a special needs instructor…played club ball for the Dirt Dogs (coach Ralph Herrera)…the daughter of Yvette and Ricardo Avila...Alyssa Isabel Avila is a native of Fresno, California.
