SPARTAN NOTES: In her fourth year as a Spartan...entering 2019 her .346 batting average and .571 slugging percentage rank seventh and second on the program's career lists, respectively...23 career home runs rank fifth all-time and she ranks first with 12 career sacrifice flies...ranks first in fielding percentage (.991), second in double plays turned (45), fourth in RBIs (126), seventh in doubles (30) and 10th in putouts (757)...on the SJSU single-season lists, in 2016 set the freshman records for slugging (.648), homers (10), sacrifice flies (5), fielding percentage (.995) and set the program, and sophomore record, for double plays turned with 22 in 2017...in 2018 her .628 slugging percentage ranked seventh...ranked first in sacrifice flies (5), third in RBIs (52), 10th in homers (10) and ninth in pitching wins (16)...is one of two players in program history to have multiple double-digit home runs seasons.

2018: Appeared and started in all 49 games…made 22 starts at first base and 27 in the circle…batted .250 (34-for-136) with 36 runs scored and 34 RBIs…had an on base percentage of .398 and slugged .485…hit .560 (14-of-25) leading off an inning…was successful in advancing runners at a .505 clip (49-of-97) and batted .583 (7-of-12) with a runner on third and less than two outs…ranked second on the team with 49 hits and her 16 multi-hit games were the most on the team…a three-hit game against South Dakota (2/8) was her best of the year…52 RBIs led the team and had 12 multi-RBI efforts including a season best six-RBI outburst against San Diego State (3/18)…ranked fourth on the team with 24 runs and had a season-high two runs against South Dakota (2/8), Seattle U (2/17), San Diego State (3/18) and at Colorado State (4/21)…led the team with 10 doubles, rapping out a season-high two against UNLV (3/31)…smacked 10 homers, tops on the team, including a two-homer game against San Diego State (3/18)…was walked four times at Colorado State (4/21), her season high among 24 total walks…lone triple came at Utah State (5/5)…led the team with five sacrifice flies…only stolen base came at Nevada (4/8)…struck out just six times…defensively recorded 190 putouts with 60 assists and three errors in 253 chances for a fielding percentage of .988. In the circle, made a team-leading 27 starts in 37 total appearances…compiled a 16-14 record with a 3.18 ERA in 165.0 innings of work, all career-bests…struck out 54 while walking 54…allowed 171 hits and 94 runs, 75 of which were earned…started the year 1-6, before going 15-8 to finish…led the staff with tow saves – vs. Providence (3/4 and Fairleigh Dickinson (3/15)…from February28 to April 6 won nine of 10 starts, including seven complete game victories…had two games in which she posted a career-high six strikeouts – versus San Diego State (3/16) and new Mexico (4/29)…averaged 4.56 innings per outing.
2017: A starter at first base in each of the team’s 56 games…batted .354 (63-for-178) with 25 runs and 33 RBIs…had 12 doubles and belted three home runs…at the end of the regular season ranked in the top-10 in the Mountain West in at bats (1st – 171), chances (2nd – 357) and putouts (2nd – 335), fielding double plays (2nd - 22) plate appearances (3rd – 189), hits (3rd), doubles (6th), in addition was 12th in fielding percentage, 13th in total bases (82) and 18th in both batting average, RBIs…12 doubles led the team with a single-game high two vs. Nevada (3/17)…33 RBI top the team and among six multi-RIB games had a pair in which she drove in three – vs. Boise State (4/15) & vs. Utah State (5/7)…had a season-high hitting streak, 10 games (3/10-to-3/31), in which she batted .424 (14-for-33) with five doubles, six runs and eight RBIs…in four of 14 multi-hit games rapped out a season-best three base knocks – vs. Detroit (3/4), at New Mexico (4/28 & 4/30) and vs. Utah State (5/5)…scored a season-high two runs in a game five times…homers came vs. Creighton (2/9), Boise State (4/15) and at UNLV (5/13)…swiped the first base of her career vs. Seton Hall (3/9) and then did it again at UC Davis (3/9) as well as against Colorado State (4/9) for a perfect 3-for-3 on the season… hit .541 (20-for-37) leading off and .500 (3-for-6) with the bases loaded…was successful in advancing runners in 56 out of 120 opportunities (.467)…with a runner on third and less than two outs hit .412 (7-for-17) and with two outs, her 13 RBIs led the team…finished with a .409 on base percentage of and a .472 slugging percentage…had 362 putouts and 19 assists.
2016: Made 33 starts, 31 at first and two as a designated player, in 44 total appearances…batted .344 (43-for-125) with 25 runs and 41 RBIs…among 10 multi-hit games, twice rapped out three hits – at Utah State (4/10) and against San Diego State (4/17)…drove in a single-game high five runs at Boise State (5/8) and had a total of nine games with multiple RBIs…scored two runs vs. LIU Brooklyn (2/26), at Colorado State, at Utah State (4/10) and at Boise State (5/7)…enjoyed a 10-game hit streak (4/10-to-5/1) in which she batted .447 (16-for-38) with two doubles, six homers, scored 10 runs and drove in 19…batted .500 (4-for-8) as a pinch hitter…with a runner on third and less than two outs hit .632 (12-for-19)…was successful in advancing runners in 41 out of 75 opportunities (.547) and with two outs, her 15 RBIs ranked third on the team…finished with a .346 on base percentage of and a .648 slugging percentage…had 205 putouts, seven assists and a .995 fielding percentage…made one appearance in the circle going two-thirds of an inning giving up a hit and a run.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate of Centennial High School in Bakersfield, Calif....a four-year letterwinner (coach Samantha Walker)…a three-time first-team All-Southwest Yosemite League (SYL) selection…as a junior earned SYL Most Valuable Player and Bakersfield-Californian all-area Player of the Year honors while batting .533 with a 10-0 record in the circle and 1.32 ERA…won SYL league and Central Section Division I titles in her junior year…as a freshman batted .519 and was named the SYL Rookie of the Year as well as a second-team Bakersfield-Californian all-area infielder…never batted below .450 in her four-year career.
MADISON: Majoring in health science...plans to pursue a career in teaching…played club ball for the Firecrackers Young 18G…the daughter of Stacey and Scott Finney...Madison Renee Aurin is a native of Bakersfield, California.
