Ashley Machado Season 2020

In her second season as a Spartan.

2020: Played in 12 games, starting six at catcher and one as designated player…had three hits, seven runs scored and drove in two runs…two hits and two RBI against Portland State…only doubles came against UC Riverside and Portland State…scored two runs against UC Riverside and Portland State…scored the winning run off a Makayla Engelstad hit in the ninth inning for a 3-2 victory…also scored against Bradley and Mount St. Mary’s…hit by pitch against Bradley…stole a base against Mount St. Mary’s…drew walks against UC Riverside and Hawaii.
 
2019: Redshirted the season.
 
EL CAMINO COLLEGE: Two-year performer for coach Jessica Rapoza…in 2018 was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Cal-JC All-American team and was a first-team All-South Coast Conference (SCC) performer after batting .339 with 43 hits, nine doubles, six triples, two homers, drove in 36 runs, walked 22 times and had 30 steals in 48 games…in 2017 was a second-team All-SCC performer.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Warren High School in Downey, Calif.…four-year letterwinner (coach Mary Starksen)…as a senior was named a Division III All-CIF performer…in both her sophomore and senior seasons was an All-San Gabriel Valley League honoree.
 
CLUB BALL: Played for the Lakewood Firecrackers.
 
ASHLEY: Majoring in psychology…interested in going to physician assistant school…daughter of Norma and Javier Machado…Ashley Nicole Machado is a native of Bellflower, Calif.
