Simone Ortega

Simone Ortega joined the San Jose State University sand volleyball staff as an assistant coach in April 2014. Ortega's volleyball coaching experiences include founding Sand Legs SF - a sand volleyball club for juniors and adults in 2011. For 13 years, she worked for the Golden Bear Volleyball Club of Berkeley, Calif., and held various positions including head coach. The 2004 University of California graduate majored in economics. She was a member of the 2000 Golden Bears volleyball team. Ortega played beach volleyball professionally in 2011 and 2012 on the Wide Open, Pro Beach and National Volleyball League (NVL) tours. She completed the Beach Coaching Certification Program (BCAP) and is certified by USA Volleyball.
