Taylor Curado was appointed the San Jose State University women's swimming and diving assistant coach in July 2014. Curado joined the coaching staff after two seasons as a freestyle sprinter and butterfly specialist for the Spartans. Her times of 50.85 in the 100 freestyle and 54.39 in the 100 butterfly rank ninth and third, respectively on the University's all-time list heading into the 2014-15 season. The 2014 All-Mountain West performer in the 100 fly finished sixth at the conference championship meet. A 2013 redshirt, she shared the team's 2014 Rookie of the Year award at the team's annual post-season awards banquet. Curado began her college career at Rutgers University. She was the Scarlet Knights' team captain her sophomore and junior seasons. While at Rutgers, Curado finished 11th in the 100 free at the 2011 Big East Conference Championships. The 2014 San Jose State graduate majored in communication studies. A former all-state swimmer for Rock Canyon High in Highlands Ranch, Colo., Curado also swam for the Highlands Ranch Aquatics club team.
