In 2013-14, Ashley Cadotte enters her first year as an assistant coach with the San José State women[apos]s basketball program.
Cadotte, who was an assistant coach at Sacramento State for the 2012-13 season, works with the Spartans post players, serves as the team[apos]s travel coordinator, and does game scouting, film breakdown and recruiting.
A native of Oregon City, Ore., Cadotte played at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City for two years. There she led the team to a South Division andthe Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Championshipafter the 2003-04 season. Cadotte earned first-team All-NWAACC honors as well as selection to the all-tournament team. She holds the school[apos]s single-game rebounding (22) and steals (9) records. In addition, her 325 rebounds (11.2 rebound per game average) is the program[apos]s single-season record.
Cadotte transferred to Sacramento State for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. She was a two-year starter and ranked in the top-5 in rebounding in the Big Sky Conference in each season. She continued her playing career after graduation as a two-year member of the Portland Energy, a summer pro-am team made up of former WNBA and college players.
Before joining the staff at Sacramento State, she was an assistant coach at Clackamas Community College. She helped develop five players who were All-South Division performers as well as the South Division MVP. The team had a 25-5 overall record, 11-3 in conference action and finished in fifth place in the 16-team NWAACC Tournament. In addition to the success on the court, two players received recognition for their work in the classroom with NWAACC Academic Leadership Awards.
She began her coaching career at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Ore., in 2010-11. One student-athlete earned all-division recognition and three were honored for academic excellence.
As a player at Oregon City (Ore.) High School, Cadotte won two state championships (1998 & 2001) and earned All-6A Three Rivers League honors.
A 2006 graduate of Sacramento State with a degree in sociology, in 2012 she earned an M.B.A. and law degree from Willamette University.
