Carolina Hannes joined the San Jose State women[apos]s tennis program as an assistant coach in 2012.
She came to SJSU after serving an assistant tennis coach at Northern Arizona University in the 2011 fall semester and previous two seasons at Western New Mexico University.
At WNMU, the men[apos]s team reached the NCAA Division II Championship in 2010 and 2011. Hannes was also named the 2011 Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Hannes spent her collegiate career at the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, she broke the women[apos]s tennis school record for most career singles wins with 86 victories. She was named to the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team and placed on the ITA All-Academic Team three years in a row (2005-07).
Following her graduation from UNI, Hannes became one of the tennis coaches at Van Der Meer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head Island, S.C. From there, she moved to Goldsboro, N.C. where she was the tennis pro at the Walnut Creek Country Club.
Hannes earned her bachelor[apos]s degree in exercise science with minors in coaching and business from Northern Iowa in 2008, and her master[apos]s degree in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on psychology and business from Western New Mexico University in 2011.
