Associate head coach Chris Brazelton enters his second season at San José State in 2014-15.
Brazelton returned to California after spending the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach at Drake University for former head coach Mark Phelps. He was responsible for all phases of recruiting, non-conference scheduling and player development. The 2012-13 team was one of the top three-point shooting teams in the nation, averaging 8.7 three-pointers per game and 38.8 percent from three-point range. The Bulldogs upset #17 Creighton and won four of its last six games of the season.
Prior to Drake, Brazelton spent five seasons as an assistant coach at UC Riverside for Jim Wooldridge. He was responsible for recruiting and landed two classes that were ranked in the top-50 nationally by hoopscooponline.com, a first for the school. Two players were the first in school history to receive first team All-Big West honors - Kyle Austin and Phil Martin.
Brazelton also spent one year as a graduate assistant at the University of New Orleans under Buzz Williams, the current head coach at Virginia Tech.
A native of Highland, Calif., Brazelton graduated from Redlands East Valley High School before beginning his collegiate career at UC Santa Cruz where he played for two seasons before transferring to Fresno State. He made the team as a walk-one for two seasons and was a 2004-05 Fresno State Scholar Athlete.
Brazelton graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications in 2006. He earned a Master of Arts degree with honors in strategic communications from National University in 2009.
