Claire Beaty joined SJSU as the Athletics Businesss Coordinator in January of 2023 after working as the Operations and Communications Intern and Assistant Swim Coach at Cal State East Bay (CSUEB).
Beaty earned her undergraduate degree from CSUEB in 2018. A decorated swimmer, Beaty was a four-year member of the swim team and a five-time All-American. Beaty holds CSUEB program records in both breaststroke events. In 2017-18, she served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President, was the NCAA DII national runner-up in the 200 Breast, won the CSUEB Female Athlete of the Year award and was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
In her first season as an assistant coach at CSUEB, Beaty helped lead the Pioneers to the Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference (PCSC) championship. As an athlete, Beaty qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200m breaststroke.
