Connor Pelton joined the San José State athletics media relations and digital media staff in July of 2019. He currently serves as the primary media contact for the women's basketball, baseball and men's soccer programs while assisting in the department's digital, social and creative efforts.
Pelton was named as a 2020 CoSIDA "Fred Stabley Jr. Writing Contest" Award winner for his coverage of the 2019-20 San José State women's basketball season, receiving recognition in the category of "Season Recap/Preview". In addition, Pelton managed the football program’s social media accounts on game days for 2020 season, a program that ranked No. 4 nationally in largest percent increase in social following from the 2019 to 2020 seasons.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Pelton graduated in 2018 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in sports management. During his time at Arizona State, Pelton worked as a student assistant in the Sun Devil Athletics media relations office, serving roles with the football, men's basketball and women's soccer programs.
Prior to making the move to Silicon Valley, Pelton served as a media relations assistant for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. While with the GNAC, he coordinated all conference media relations activities for women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's golf and men's and women's soccer.
Pelton currently resides in San José. He enjoys long walks on the golf course, staring directly into sunsets and crying himself to sleep every night.
