Dominic Urrutia (you-ROO-tee-uh) has been a member of the San José State Athletics Department since arriving on campus as an undergraduate student in the fall of 2008.
Under the wing of his mentor Lawrence Fan, Urrutia spent nearly a decade with the Sports Information Office in various roles before moving into Athletics Development in the spring of 2018. Upon serving in the positions of Annual Giving Officer and Assistant AD for Development, he was elevated to an Associate AD for Major Gifts in July of 2022.
Urrutia is a double-graduate of San José State, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism (BS, 2013) and Sports Management (MA, 2015).
Dominic's wife Danielle has a much more impressive Spartan career as a two-time conference champion (2011, 2012) with the women's swimming & diving program. Their son, Elio, was born in March of 2020.
Urrutia is a proud native of Lodi, Calif., who now calls San Jose home.
