Douglas K. Osumi, who has more than 20 years of experience in college and professional video production, is in his second year of video production for athletics media relations and marketing. He had previously been the Spartan football team’s video coordinator for over a decade.
Osumi came to the Spartans in 2005 after serving five seasons as the video director/producer for the University of California athletics department. Besides his work at Cal, Osumi has worked for the San Francisco 49ers as a video assistant during mini-camps and training camps.
The 1992 graduate of California State University,?Chico, began his career in athletics as an assistant football coach at Chico (Calif.) High School in 1990. He moved on to a similar position at Marin Catholic High School in 1991.
His first foray into video production was in 1992 when he was appointed an assistant football coach at San Francisco State University. Three seasons later, he returned to Chico State in 1995 as an assistant coach and video coordinator.
Osumi earned his master's degree from Chico State in 1996 and went on to become video coordinator at the University of Hawai'i for the 1997 and 1998 school years.
