Gutierrez joined SJSU in June of 2026 as a graduate assistant coach.
She joins the Spartans’ coaching staff after spending the past two seasons competing on Purdue University’s women’s tennis team. Gutierrez collected 14 doubles wins and nine singles wins across her two seasons as a Boilermaker. ITA also ranked Guterriez as the No. 98 singles player in the nation in February 2025.
Before competing at Purdue, Gutierrez spent her first two collegiate seasons competing at UTSA. There, Gutierrez went 20-14 in singles and 23-14 in doubles. She also guided UTSA to 17 wins in 2024, the most by any Roadrunner squad since 2003.
Gutierrez, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, was ranked No. 6 in the Mexican national women's rankings in high school and represented Mexico in World Cup Qualifying in 2018 and 2019.
