Hailey Grotte joined the San José State women’s swimming and diving coaching staff in April of 2025.
Grotte transitioned from student-athlete to assistant coach for the Spartans after competing for SJSU in 2024-25 while pursuing her master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in sports management. She earned Academic All-Mountain West honors and was a Mountain West Scholar Athlete.
In the pool, Grotte recorded the Spartans’ top time in the 200 freestyle for the 2025 season and was part of the team’s top 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.
A 2024 graduate of Washington State, Grotte competed for four years on the Cougars swimming team and was a two-time team captain. During her four years, she helped the 200 medley relay team set the Gibb Pool record and posted the ninth-best time in school history in the 100 breaststroke.
Grotte graduated with Cum Laude honors, earning her degree in management. She was a three-time Pac-12 Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll honoree and a 2023 CSC Academic All-District selection.
