Jabari is originally from California and brings a strong background in athletics, academic advising, counseling, and student development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology from Sacramento State and a Master of Science in Behavioral Health and Human Services with an emphasis in Sports Psychology from California Baptist University.
Prior to joining San José State University, Jabari served as an Athletic Academic Specialist at the University of California, Riverside, where he supported student-athletes through personalized advising, performance strategies, and mentorship. Drawing from his schooling in sports psychology, Jabari helped student-athletes strengthen their mental focus, manage performance-related stress, and develop effective goal-setting and motivation techniques to enhance both academic and athletic performance. His background in counseling psychology allows him to build meaningful connections with students while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
