Jordan Loera joins the San José State women’s basketball program for the 2026-27 season
Loera joined the Spartans after two seasons on the coaching staff at BYU. She was the primary guards position coach, including guards Delaney Gibb, Olivia Hamlin and Sydney Benally. The 2025-26 team had notable wins over No. 19 Texas Tech, Iowa State and Colorado, recorded two wins in the Big 12 Tournament and had an appearance in the WBIT championship game.
An assistant coach at Eastern Washington from 2021-24, Loera coached the guard and developed All-Big Sky guards Jamie Loera (2024 Big Sky Player of the Year and two-time Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year) and Aaliyah Alexander (First Team All-Big Sky selection). The team won the 2024 Big Sky Regular Season and Tournament Championships and played in the NCAA Tournament. The program won 29 games in 2023-24, setting a school and conference record.
Loera played at Oregon from 2011-16, where she appeared in 112 games. She made 45 three-pointers as a freshman, the second-highest total for a freshman at the time. She led the team in steals with 37 during the 2012-13 season. The Ducks made two appearances in the WNIT during her career.
In the classroom, Loera was a two-time honorable mention Academic All-Pac 12 selection and received a Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining a 3.2 grade-point average for entire collegiate career.
She started her coaching career as a graduate assistant and director of operations at Southern Utah. She assisted with practice, recruiting and travel while managing the team’s social media accounts.
Loera graduated from Oregon with her bachelor’s degree in graphic design with minors in arts management and journalism in 2016. She received a Master’s of Public Administration with a concentration in higher education from Southern Utah in 2021.
