Josh Irvin joined the San José State staff in 2024 as the Outside Linebackers coach after spending the last two years at UCLA as a Recruiting Analyst where he was since 2022.
Prior to joining UCLA, Irvin worked at Northern Arizona University where he was the defensive ends coach and recruiting coordinator. Before joining Chris Ball's staff in Flagstaff, Irvin spent 2018 with Humboldt State University, coaching the program’s receivers while also serving as the passing game coordinator. Irvin also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
Irvin also has previous experience at San José State University where he was a defensive graduate assistant and defensive quality control coach from August 2015 to April 2018. A graduate of Chapman University in Orange, Calif., Irvin played for the Panthers from 2011 to 2013 and served as a team captain before joining the coaching staff as defensive backs coach.
