Kayla Dumon joined San José State Athletics in 2025 as the Coordinator of Football Athlete
Support Services.
Before arriving at San Jose State, Dumon served as an Assistant Athletic Counselor in the
Student-Athlete Support Services Department at The Ohio State University. During her tenure, she
monitored academic progress and NCAA eligibility while promoting student-athletes' holistic development.
Her experience spans both operations and media industries. As an Operations Coordinator at
Overtime, she managed employee experience and arena operations at the Overtime Elite Arena
in Atlanta, Ga. Additionally, she contributed as a writer for Complex Philippines, creating
compelling content that highlights Filipino athletes making an impact in the U.S.
From 2021 to 2023, Dumon served as a Graduate Assistant in Student-Athlete Services at
Jacksonville University, where she provided academic support, oversaw study hall operations,
administered Student-Athlete Assistance Funds, co-led the Injured Athlete Support Group, and
served on the Athletics Board of Diversity Awareness. Concurrently, she worked as a Guest
Experience Representative with the Jacksonville Jaguars, gaining hands-on experience in
professional sports.
Her diverse background also includes roles at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, where she
worked as a Baseball Camp Counselor and Basketball Operations Assistant. Additionally, in
Spring 2021, she served as an Interim Indoor/Beach Assistant Volleyball Coach at the State
College of Florida.
Kayla earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Florida Southern College, where
she was a beach volleyball student-athlete. She also held leadership roles, including her
appointment as the 2019 Intercollegiate Athletic Senator and President/Founder of Florida
Southern’s Asian & Pacific Islander Student Association. She later obtained a master’s degree
in Organizational Leadership from Jacksonville University.
Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership at Anderson University Online, reinforcing her
dedication to advancing inclusion and student-athlete support. She actively contributes to
leadership and professional development as a Circle Lead for Women Leaders in Sports and as
a member of the National Association of Academic & Student-Athlete Professionals (N4A)
Emerging Professionals Subcommittee Leadership Team.
A native of Citrus Springs, Fla., Kayla brings a well-rounded skill set and a deep passion for
empowering student-athletes, ensuring their success both in competition and in life.
