Matt Levin joined San José State as a multimedia specialist in May 2024. He is currently the primary contact for Spartan men's basketball, men's soccer, baseball and men's water polo while also serving as the secondary contact for football. Additionally, Levin oversees women's soccer, track & field and cross country.
In 2025, Levin helped SJSU in becoming a FWAA Super 11 Award honoree, which recognizes the best-performing media relations staff in FBS Football. Additionally, he has helped San José State Athletics in being recognized as the Best College Sports Team in the Bay Area by The Mercury News for three consecutive years (2024, 2025 & 2026).
Before San José State, Levin spent the 2023-24 season as a graduate assistant at Georgetown University. There, he served as the media contact for the Hoya softball, men’s rowing and men’s and women’s tennis teams. He also assisted with media coverage across Georgetown athletics, including with their men's basketball, football, volleyball and men's and women's soccer teams.
In 2022-23, Levin worked at Harvard University as a communications assistant, serving as the primary media contact for their men's and women's fencing, men’s and women’s golf and women’s tennis teams. He also helped with coverage across Harvard athletics, including with Crimson football, men's and women's hockey and men's volleyball.
Levin began his career as an SID at Northeastern University in 2020 as a co-op. At Northeastern, he worked primarily with the men's hockey team and baseball teams. Levin remained assisting at Northeastern up until 2023, helping with game-day responsibilities and various projects such as media guides for the men's hockey team.
Levin obtained his master's degree in Sports Industry Management at Georgetown University in 2025 and his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Northeastern University in 2023. Levin is originally from Bethesda, Maryland, but currently resides in San Jose, California.
