On September 1, 2017, Terrance Stratton was named Director of Equipment Operations for the San José State athletics department.
Stratton spent the 2016-17 school year, his first at SJSU, as equipment coordinator of olympic sports working closely with men’s and women’s basketball, indoor and beach Volleyball and gymnastics.
He joined the Spartans after working as an equipment room graduate assistant with the football and track programs at Akron from 2012 to 2014. Prior to Akron, he spent a year as the equipment room graduate assistant for Illinois State athletics.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Toledo, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management while minoring in International Business and Recreation. He worked as an equipment room student manager for the Rockets' athletics department from 2009 to 2011. In December 2013, he earned his Master's Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Akron.
The native of Toledo, Ohio, he is a member of and certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA). An avid fan of hockey and his local Toledo Walleye and Mud Hens organizations, Stratton is married to Lisa Tuminello and the two reside in San Jose.
