Wednesday Bienusa, a California native from Placerville, joins the Spartan Athletic
Training Staff as an Associate Athletic Trainer with the Women’s Gymnastics Program.
Before assuming her current role, she was the Associate Head Athletic Trainer for 3
seasons with the East Texas A&M Football program, where she worked to modernize
healthcare for the Athletic Training Department and assist in the transition of the
Athletics Department to D1 status.
Wednesday’s prior roles as an Athletic Trainer include Stanford football (2019-2023),
UC Santa Barbara working women’s basketball, men's and women’s swimming and
Women’s water polo (2017-2019) and the University of Alabama Birmingham as an Intern
Athletic Trainer helping to rebuild the Blazers’ football program.
She holds membership with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and is
certified by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) for athletic trainers. Wednesday also
holds certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Vestibular Rehabilitation
Specialist, Mulligan’s Upper and Lower mobilizations and Dry Needling Level 1
practitioner.
Wednesday is a graduate from Fresno State, where she completed her Master of Arts in
Psychology of Sport with an emphasis in psychology of injury, and Sacramento State
where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology emphasizing in
Athletic Training.
