Yasmin Mossadeghi was named assistant coach at SJSU in September of 2023.
Mossadeghi arrives in San Jose following one season as an assistant coach at Harvard where she helped lead the Crimson to the 2023 Ivy League championship with a 29-17-1 record.
Prior to Harvard, Mossadeghi was at Southwestern College (SWC), located in Chula Vista, California, where she spent thirteen seasons as head coach and is the winningest coach in program history with 243 victories which included nine winning seasons and five playoff appearances. She produced one NFCA All-American, 17 NFCA All-Academic Team, two MVPlayer PCAC, one MVPitcher PCAC, 14 PCAC First Team and 22 PCAC 2nd Team honorees. In 2012 she was named the SWC female coach of the year and the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. She also served as a professor of wellness, exercise science and athletics at SWC.
Prior to her reign as SWC's head coach, Mossadeghi served as an Associate Head Coach for Mount San Antonio College for three years and at University of California, Davis for two years. She authored the book "Between the Lines: Mental skills of hitting for softball players" and spent time playing professionally on multiple international teams, as well as the US Women's Major League Softball All Star Team.
A current NFCA Executive Rep, Mossadeghi played four seasons at California State University, Fullerton where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and later her Master of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on sport psychology. She recently earned a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a specialization in educational leadership.
