San Jose, Calif. - Following a fifth-place team finish and individual medalist honors for sophomore Cody Blick earlier this week, the San José State men's golf team travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan to compete in the 2013 Wolverine Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, September 16 & 17.
The 2013 Wolverine Intercollegiate is hosted by Michigan at the 6,704-yard par 71 U-M Golf Course. In addition to the Spartans and host Michigan the field includes: Detroit, Eastern Michigan, Lamar, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Oakland, Penn State, Toledo and Xavier.
Teams play 36 holes on Monday. San José State starts at 8:00 a.m. (CT) on the 10th tee and is paired with Michigan and Lamar for the both Monday rounds. The final 18 holes, played on Tuesday, will also begin at 8:00 a.m. (CT) off the first and 10th tees.
Among the San José State players who will compete in the Wolverine Intercollegiate is Blick, who earned his first medalist honors as a collegian at Washington State's Itani Quality Homes Collegiate (Sept. 9 & 10). The 2012-13 WAC Player and Freshman of the Year shot all three rounds in the 60s and looks to continue his quality play in Ann Arbor. Daniel Semmler, Justin Estrada, Landon Polterock and Taylor Bromley round out Spartans who will compete at the Wolverine Intercollegiate.
