SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO

The Dons are 2-0-0 so far this season. They have a pair of 2-0 home wins over LIU Brooklyn and Air Force. USF plays in the WCC and finished last season with a 6-7-5 record, 4-5-3 in conference action.

The San Francisco earned a 2-0 decision last year against the Spartans in San Jose.

The side lost its top scorer from last season Mauricio De Leon (5 g, 2A), but return Miguel Aguilar and Michael Shaddock each who scored three goals in 2012. USF has gotten single goals from four players in their two wins to start the season.

Chase Hauser and Connor Gaal have each started one match and have combined for seven saves with out allowing a goal. Each has a 1-0-0 record.

Erik Visser is in his 14th season leading the San Francisco program. He has a 104-104-22 overall record with the Dons.

Keepers

Emmanuel Espinosa (So., San Jose, Calif.) in one start made four saves in a 0-2 decision against SIUE (9/1). Has a 0-1-0 record, 2.00 GAA and .667 save %. Ranks fourth in save %, fifth in GAA and saves per game (4.00) and seventh in total saves (4.00) among WAC players.

Felix Petermann (Jr., Munich, Germany) in one start, made six saves in 102:30 of action. Allowed one goal in a 0-1 loss to Sacramento State (8/30). His .857 save % is tops in the WAC. He ranks second in GAA (0.88), saves and saves per game (6) among players in the WAC.

Strikers

Eric Mendez (Fr., Santa Cruz, Calif.) in two matches, both starts, has produced a team-high seven shots with four on-frame. In the WAC is ranked third in shots and fourth in shots per game (3.5).

Rory Knibbs (Fr., London, England) in two starts has taken four shots with two on-goal.

Ben Cowdrill (Fr., Leamington Spa, England) has appeared in two matches, both as a reserve.

Bryan Ruiz-Unger (Fr., Miami, Fla.) has appeared in two matches, both as a reserve.
