SAN JOSÉ STATE HOSTS FIRST MOUNTAIN WEST MATCHES: The San José State University women's soccer team (1-9-0, 0-2-0 MW) plays its first Mountain West (MW) matches in Spartan Stadium this weekend, hosting UNLV on Friday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. and Nevada on Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m.

San José State opened MW play on the road at New Mexico and San Diego State last weekend, but dropped both matches. The Spartans took the Lobos to overtime on Friday, September 27, but New Mexico scored in the 94th minute for the 2-1 victory. Against the Aztecs, the Spartans made 12 saves, its highest amount since 2011, but lost, 2-0, to San Diego State on Sunday, September 29.

TICKETS: Tickets for all San José State women's soccer home matches are free for all San José State students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. Adult tickets are $5.00, $2.00 for youth (12 and under) and any child wearing a jersey enters for free.

Groups of 20 or more can buy discounted tickets at $3.00 per person. The ticket office opens one hour prior to kick-off at Spartan Stadium or can be purchased by calling San José State Athletics Ticket Office at 408-924-SJTX (7589).

UNLV REBELS: The Rebels (6-4-2, 1-1-0 MW) finished their MW-opening weekend with a 1-1 split at home to Boise State and Utah State. Kylie Wassell has been stellar in net for the Rebels, posting MW-bests .857 save percentage and 4.91 saves per match. Jen Wolfe's five goals, four assists, 14 points and 37 shots lead the team. Head Coach Michael Coll is in his second season at the helm of the Rebels' program.

NEVADA WOLFPACK: The Wolfpack (3-5-3, 1-1-0 MW) also split its first MW homestand this weekend, shutting out Utah State, 2-0, before falling to Boise State, 1-0. The team has been led by goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos, who earned her MW-leading fifth shutout of the season against Utah State. Kori Disarufino's two goals lead the team, while Chrisalyn Fonte has taken a team-best 30 shots. In her fourth season is Head Coach Dr. Melissa Price.

SAN JOSÉ STATE HEAD COACH: Head Coach Jeff Leightman is at the Spartans' helm for his sixth season, entering 2013 with a 40-47-11 record. The 2009 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Coach of the Year, he is the only coach to lead his team to back-to-back regular season conference titles. In each of his first four years, he led the Spartans to a WAC Tournament bid.

Ashley Boitz has played in nine matches for the Spartans this season. She has taken two shots.

Rachel Docherty has started six of seven matches played for the Spartans this season.

Alex Donaldson has played in eight of the Spartans' matches this season.

Lupita Estrada has started all of the Spartans' matches this season and leads the team in goals (3), points (7), shots (15) and shots on goal (10). She was named to the University of San Diego Tournament All-Tournament Team after scoring both of the team's goals.

Sarah Fraser has played in all of the Spartans' matches this season with four starts. She has scored one goal, and has taken three shots, two of which were between the pipes.

Alex Jimenez has played in all of the Spartans' matches and has seven starts this season. She has taken one shot.

Cheryl Kute has started all of the Spartans' 2013 matches this season. She has scored one goal, a game-winning penalty kick, and has one assist. She has taken eight shots, four of which were on goal. Kute was named to the University of San Diego Tournament All-Tournament Team.

McColl Matthews has played in eight of the team's matches this season with four starts. She assisted on one goal, taking two shots, both of which were between the pipes.

Carley McBeath has started eight of nine matches for the Spartans this season. She has one assist and has taken nine shots, three of which were on goal.

Megan Molina has started all of the Spartans' matches this season. She has taken nine shots, five of which were between the pipes.

Megan Rauschnot has started eight of the team's matches, taking one shot this season.

Stephanie Rebagliati has played in nine of the Spartans' matches this season, making four starts. She has taken one shot, which was on goal.

Kareli Rodriguez has scored one goal and is the team's assist leader (2) in her 10 starts this season. She has taken 13 shots with two going between the pipes.

Becca Spangler has seven starts for the Spartans this season, appearing in all 10 matches. She has one assist and has taken one shot.

Alexis Venegas has started nine of the Spartans' matches this season. She scored her first collegiate goal against San Francisco. She has taken seven shots, five of which were between the pipes.

NOTES FROM BETWEEN THE PIPES:

Zoe Makrigiannis has five starts for the Spartans and an additional appearance for 454:00 minutes in goal this season. She has a 1.78 goals against average with a .710 save percentage alongside a 1-4 record.

Sarah Peplinski has started four of the Spartans' 10 matches this season, making appearances in six matches. In 460:31 minutes, she has a 0-5 record with a 2.93 goals against average and a .615 save percentage.
