San José State record: 4-3, 3-1 Mountain West. The Spartans have a three-game winning streak after defeating Wyoming, 51-44, on October 26. San José State began its streak with back-to-back road wins at Hawai'i, 37-27, on October 5, and a 34-27 triumph at Colorado State on October 12.

UNLV record: 5-3, 3-1 Mountain West. The Rebels won their fifth game in the last six with a 27-22 road victory at Nevada on October 26.

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: KLIV (1590 AM, San José) originates San José State football broadcasts. Justin Allegri is the play-by-play voice. Kevin Richardson offers commentary. The network affiliate is KION (1460 AM/101.1 FM, Salinas). The UNLV broadcast begins at 12:30 p.m. (PDT).

San José State-UNLV series: San José State leads the series, 11-5-1. The teams are playing each other for the first time since 1997 when the Spartans won, 55-48 in overtime, at Sam Boyd Stadium. The overtime was San José State's first in school history. The Spartans are winners in the last three meetings between these teams. UNLV's last win in the series was a 23-10 victory in Las Vegas on October 29, 1994.

1-3 to 4-3: The 2013 San José State football team is the school's first to start a season with a 1-3 win-loss record and win three in a row to climb above .500 for a 4-3 mark. The 1984 Spartans are the first team at the University to be 1-3 and finish a season above the .500 mark with a 6-5 record (.545).

Three consecutive comeback wins: San José State overcame its biggest deficit of the season, 16 points, to overtake Wyoming on October 26. Three times, the Spartans trailed by 16 points including once in the second half. The Wyoming win was the third consecutive game San José State won in a comeback manner. The Spartans trailed by 11 points at Hawai'i on October 5 and by seven during the Colorado State game on October 12. The last time a San José State team trailed by at least 16 points in a game before staging a comeback was a 35-34 win over Stanford on September 9, 2006. The Spartans were behind by 20 points, 27-7, in the second quarter.

A perfect October: With the victory over Wyoming, San José State finished October with a 3-0 win-loss record. There are now 13 Times in which the Spartans won all their games in October. The most recent are the 1987 (5-0), 1986 (4-0), 1981 (3-0) and 1979 (4-0) seasons. In a five season span from 1937 through 1941, San José State was 20-0-3 in the month of October.

Recent road success: San José State is taking an 8-3 record in its last 11 road games dating back to a 27-24 win at Fresno State on November 26, 2011 to UNLV.

Explosive second half vs. Wyoming: San José State scored a season-high 51 points and a season-high 22 points in the third quarter in the Wyoming game. The Spartans' 37 second-half points were the most scored by the team in a second half of a game since scoring 42 in a 70-63 victory over Rice on October 2, 2004.

Back-to-back 600+ yards of total offense: The 2013 San José State team is the first in school history to post consecutive games of 600 yards of total offense and 400 passing yards.

1st Spartans with three 400-plus passing games: The 2013 San José State team is the first in school history to record three 400-plus passing yardage games in a season. The Spartans threw for 439 yards at Minnesota, 431 at Colorado State and notched their season-high 482 against Wyoming. The 439 passing yards at Minnesota is the second most allowed by any Golden Gophers team.

Long-distance TDs:  In the last two games, five San José State touchdowns were 60 yards or more in length. Two occurred in the October 26 Wyoming victory and the other three against Colorado State. The Colorado State win on October 12 marked the first time since the 2004 season a San José State team scored three touchdowns in a game 60 yards or longer.

Long plays in 2013:  This season, the Spartans have 24 plays of 30 or more yards. The passing combination of Fales to wide receiver Chandler Jones accounts for 10 of the 24 long-yardage plays in 2013. In 2012, San José State had 16 plays of 30 or more yards after seven games. Six of the 16 were on kickoff or interception returns.
