San Jose, Calif. - Before taking time off for the holiday break, the San José State women's basketball team plays its last two non-conference games this week. The Spartans host Georgia State on Wednesday night and then Kansas City on Saturday afternoon. Both games are part of doubleheaders with San Jose State's men's team.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TICKETS
Tickets for San José State women's basketball home games are free for all SJSU students with a valid student ID. Adult tickets are $5.00 and $3.00 for youth (12 and under).
Groups of 20 or more can buy discounted tickets at $3.00 per person by 5:00 p.m. the business day before the game via the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589) or (877) SJSUTIX (757-8849).
The Event Center Box Office opens two hours prior to tip-off for any weekend, holiday game or doubleheader and is open regular business hours (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) for weekday games or weekday doubleheaders.
PARKING
Parking for all San José State women's basketball games is in the University's Seventh Street Parking Garage. The Seventh Street Garage, located on the Northwest corner of San Salvador Street and Seventh Street, can be accessed through Seventh Street. Parking is $5.00.
GEORGIA STATE GAME TIME CHANGED TO 4:30 P.M.
The Spartans next home game, against Georgia State on December 18, was originally scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The first game of a doubleheader with San José State's men's basketball team, the tipoff has been moved up one hour and will now start at 4:30 p.m.
SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers are in their first year in the Sun Belt Conference. They were 13-16 last year, 5-13 in their last season in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Georgia State (4-6) has won four of its last five games, including a 60-54 win at Kennesaw State (12/3) and 56-55 victory at Kent State (12/8). They are 2-3 away from home so far this season.
Kendra Long, a senior guard, is the team's leading scorer (13.5 pts) and the only player averaging double figures. Junior center Brittany Logan is at 6.8 rebounds per outing and Alisha Andrews, a junior guard, dishes out 4.9 assists per game.
Head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener is in her fourth season leading the Georgia State program. She brought a 228-199 career and 33-57 GSU record into the 2013-14 season.
This will be the second time these programs have met. The previous matchup (12/17/94) was a 70-41 Panthers victory in the Oakland Tribune Classic during the 1994-95 season.
SCOUTING KANSAS CITY
The Kangaroos are in their first year in the Western Athletic Conference. They were 9-21 last year, 5-11 in their last season in the Summit League.
Kansas City (2-7) has won two of its last three games, including a 69-62 win over Eastern Illinois (11/30) and 83-79 victory against Maryville (12/4). They play at San Francisco (12/18) before playing the Spartans on Saturday. The 'Roos are 0-5 away from home so far this season.
Eilise O'Connor, a senior guard, leads the team in scoring (19.3 pts) and assists (4.3) . Senior forward Kim Nezianya also scored in double figures (11.1 pts.) and is the team's leading rebounder (7.4).
Head coach Marsha Frese is in her second season leading the Kansas City program. She brought a 9-21 career record into the 2013-14 season.
This will be the first meeting between these programs.
CLIMBING THE CAREER LIST(S)
After little more than two seasons, Ta'Rea Cunnigan (Jr., G, Winchester, Calif.) is already in the top-10 of four San José State career categories. Her 1,115 points put her in 12th place. She is 50 points from passing Tatiana Taylor (2001-04) for 11th on the career list.
Her 331 free throws and 449 free throw attempts rank second and fourth, respectively. She is 18 free throw attempts from equaling Karen Mason (1978-81) for third place and 24 from Sayja Summler (2008-11) for second place. Her 206 3-point attempts are 10th on the career list. Cunnigan joins Cricket Williams (2001-04) as just the second player in Spartans' history with more than 1,000 points and 300 free throws. In addition, her .737 free throw shooting percentage is fifth all-time.
There are two categories, among the Spartans' career records, that Cunnigan should enter into the top-10 during this season. She is two 3-pointers and one steal from the top-10 in each category.
Riana Byrd (So., C, Richmond, Calif.), blocked 64 shots in her freshman campaign and has 14 more this season, is already in sixth place in the program's career blocks list. She is one from tying Winnia Gazaway (1979-82) for fifth place and five from Debbie Johnson (1979-80, 1982) from fourth.
WOODBERRY FEELING IT FROM LONG RANGE
Rebecca Woodberry (Jr., G, Phoenix, Ariz.) ranks 23rd in the nation in 3-pointers, making more than three per game. She leads the Mountain West with 28 3-pointers in the team's nine games and three times has hit five trey's in a game.
SEEING DOUBLE
With five double doubles in just seven games, Jasmine Smith (Fr., F, Burbank, Calif.) ranks 26th in the nation and leads the Mountain West. She is on of two players in the MW with multiple double doubles and does all her work coming off the bench.
CRASHING THE BOARDS
Riana Byrd (So., C, Richmond, Calif.) and Jasmine Smith (Fr., F, Burbank, Calif.) are a one-two punch when it comes to rebounds. Each has had five double figure rebounding games this year. The twosome are also the 1st (Byrd) and 2nd (Smith) ranked rebounder in the MW and are ranked 60th and 69th in the nation, respectively.
