Without playing a match over the weekend, San Jose State University moved up two spots and is ranked 12th nationally in the February 12 Collegiate Water Polo Association's weekly coaches' poll.
The Spartans (8-5) return to action on February 14 with three non-conference matches over two days at the Aggie Shootout hosted by UC Davis. San Jose State takes on the host Aggies (4-4), now ranked 14th in the weekly poll, on the Invitational's first day at 4:00 p.m. The Spartans conclude play on February 15 against Santa Clara (3-4 before the 2/12 match with Stanford), ranked 16th in the weekly poll at 10:30 a.m. and unranked CSU Bakersfield (3-7) at 1:30 p.m.
Freshman Clara Espar Llaquet remains San Jose State's leading scorer with 39 goals. She is third in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) in goal scoring and goal scoring average. Sophomore Rae Lekness (8th) and junior Timi Molnar(20th) also are among the MPSF's top scorers.
