Davis, Calif.----- San Jose State University led from start to finish in a 15-5 women's water polo win over Santa Clara University to start second day action at the Aggie Shootout at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
Clara Espar Llaquetled the #12-ranked Spartans (10-5) in scoring with five goals, three of them in the third quarter.
Bianca Seyfert, who scored San Jose State's first goal, and co-captain Timi Molnareach finished with three scores for the Spartans that are going for a tournament sweep later in the day against CSU Bakersfield.
Maddie Reardonwas credited with eight saves including a stop of one 5-meter penalty shot in the third quarter.
San Jose State led 3-1 after the first quarter, 8-2 at halftime and 11-4 after three quarters.
Santa Clara (3-6) was never closer than 4-2 early in the second quarter.
