San José, Calif. --- The San José State University women's tennis team will recognize Sabastiani Leon Chao on Friday, April 18 as it hosts the University of Nevada for its last home dual match of the season.
A senior from San Diego, Calif., Leon Chao has 128 career wins and is tied with Chau Truong for first place on the Spartans' 100 Career Win List. For the 2013-14 season, Leon Chao has an overall record of 18-11 in singles and 10-16 in doubles and has a season high, six match win streak in singles between February 9 and March 8.
In their last showing against the Wolf Pack (11-8) this season, the Spartans (9-13) won two singles matches and the doubles point, but fell short to Nevada, 5-3 in a non-conference dual match. In singles, Gaelle Rey and Julianna Bacelar won at the #3 and #4 positions, respectively for San José State. Rey later teamed up with Jessica Willett and Bacelar paired with Justine Deleval to secure the doubles point.
Play begins at 12:00 p.m. (PT) at the Spartan Tennis Complex located next to the Spartan Stadium.
