Tallahassee, Fla.----- San Jose State University football wide receiver Tyler Winstonis one of 55 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) named to the 2014 Biletnikoff Award Pre-season Watch List.
Named after the former Oakland Raiders pass catching great Fred Biletnikoff who is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football.
Heading into his sophomore season, Winston is the Spartans' top returning pass catcher from 2013. He caught 58 passes for 858 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games. Nearly all of his production came in the final eight games once he earned an opportunity to be in the starting lineup.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder from Roseville, Calif., was named the 2013 Mountain West Freshman of the Year in a vote of the conference coaches.
Winston is one of five sophomores and one of eight Mountain West players listed on this watch List.
Ten semifinalists will be named on November 17 and the three finalists will announced on November 24. The winner will be presented on the December 11 Home Depot College Football Awards Show televised by ESPN.
