PALO ALTO, Calif. - The San José State women's cross country team concluded the 2014 season on Friday in the NCAA West Regional at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.

"Rebecca and Lalida got out well and were competitive, and finished strong for us," said assistant coach Brad Wick.

Rebecca Garcia led San José State finishing 159th with a time of 22:57.1, while Lalida Maokhamphiou (178th, 23:16.5), Melanie Fujiwara (197th, 23:43.0), Karina Nunes, (204th, 23:54.3), Marissa Buckley, (210th, 24:01.8), Allison Kimura, (220th, 24:34.8), and Diana Orozco, (224th, 24:54.3) rounded out the field of runners for the Spartans.

Oregon took the top overall spot in the NCAA West Regional, while Arizona State's Shelby Houlihan, finished ahead of the field of 230 runners with a time of 19:31.6. Fellow Mountain West member Boise State made its way into the podium as Emma Bates finished the 6k course 19:34.2 to earn a second place finish.
