David Peterson Named To College Gridiron Showcase All-Star Game

Arlington, Texas----- David Peterson, a 2014 honorable mention All-Mountain West offensive line honoree from San Jose State University, accepted an invitation to play in the January 31 College Gridiron Showcase All-Star Game.

The game will be played at Maverick Stadium on the University of Texas Arlington campus.

Peterson is one of nine offensive linemen assigned to the Wranglers team with former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl tight end and Santa Clara County native Doug Cosbie as head coach.

Peterson was a two-year starting center for the Spartans. He was a 2014 candidate for the Remington Award recognizing the best center in college football, was named one of San Jose State's two team captains for the season and was the recipient of the Outstanding Offensive Player Award at the team's annual post-season banquet.

The 2014 graduate from Redlands, Calif., is pursuing a master's degree in counseling education.

Peterson is the third San Jose State player from the 2014 team to accept a post-season all-star game invitation. Safety Akeem King played in the January 10 Medal of Honor Bowl game in Charleston, S.C. Defensive tackle Travis Raciti is a member of the West team for the 90th East-West Shrine Game on January 17 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
