Boise, Idaho --- The San José men's basketball team suffered through its worst game of the season in an 86-36 loss to Boise State in Mountain West play at Taco Bell Arena Wednesday night.
The Broncos (13-6, 3-3 MW) exploded on a 16-0 run over three minutes in the first half to create the initial separation. The Spartans (2-17, 0-7 MW) made only one basket in the final 9:30 of the first period, and had 13 first-half turnovers. SJSU shot 11-of-44 for the contest, making it three of the last four games shooting 25 percent or lower as a team.
Rashad Muhammad scored 13 points to lead San José State.
Derrick Marks paced Boise State with a game-high 19-points, and Montigo Alford added 14 points.
The Spartans next game is a full week away on January 28, at home against Air Force.
