Phoenix, Ariz. --- San José State's Caitlin Wilson took down a San José State record in the 400-meter dash on Saturday at the 36th Sun Angel Track Classic in Pheonix, Ariz.
Wilson clocked a 55.66, breaking the old record of 1:03.59, set by Madiha Raza at the Fresno Twilight.
"Caitlin's 400 was definitely the highlight of the day," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "She looked really good and it was great to see a quality run for her."
The Spartans competed in a total of eight events on the day inside Sun Angel Stadium.
Wilson also ran in the 200-meter dash, and finished with a time of 24:51. Jade Childs was SJSU's leader in the 100-hurdles with a time of 14.22.
"Competing in this meet was great experience for us," Petersmeyer said. "Competing against these Pac-12 and SEC teams are good for the team as we move forward."
San José State's next events include the California Invitational Combined, in Azusa, Calif., on April 14-15, as well as the Mt. SAC Relays witch last April 16-18.
