SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San José State's women's tennis team sent its two seniors off on a high note, downing Academy of Art, 6-1, Sunday afternoon in the Spartans' final home match of the season.

San José State (12-6, 2-1 MW) capped off a perfect 7-0 season at home with Sunday's win over NCAA-DII Academy of Art (11-4, 10-2 Pacwest).

Seniors Julianna Bacelar and Jessica Willett played their final home matches of their Spartan careers. Bacelar and Willett have been instrumental in the program's success over the past four seasons, with the duo combining for 218 wins through Sunday's match.

"It was great day for our seniors. We finished the season undefeated at home, which is a great accomplishment," said Spartans' head coach Sylvain Malroux. "It was nice to see our two seniors playing together at in doubles and get a win."

In her first three seasons at San José State, Willett became the first player in program history to be named an ITA scholar-athlete three times in her career, while Bacelar is currently third in program history with 127 career wins.

"One thing that's been even more amazing than their play on the court, those two have made a huge difference on the team in other ways," Malroux said. "They've been doing a lot for their teammates that the wins and losses don't show.

"They have made an incredible difference in the lives of all their teammates, and because of them our team chemistry has been incredible. They've been very successful in keeping the team together as one big family, and we've had some great results because of that."

Sunday, the Spartans swept doubles play, highlighted by Bacelar and Willett teaming for a 6-3 win over AAU's Michelle Dandik and Jenny Johansson at No. 2.

In singles action, San José State claimed its final five points with straight-set wins at the top four spots in the lineup and Justine Deleval's first singles win of the season at No. 6.

The Spartans head to Nevada on Saturday, April 18, to close out the season in a 1:00 p.m. PT start against the Wolf Pack.
