The 2015 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin Wednesday, May 13, at the San Diego State Aztec Sports Deck.
Jade Childs will begin the action for San José State in the women's heptathlon taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. The full slate of championship trials and finals events begin Friday and last through Saturday afternoon. A full events schedule, live stats and video coverage are available through the Mountain West Championship Central.
Rebecca Garcia will start things of for SJSU track events in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday. The Spartans will also have Jennifer Beckingham and Caitlin Wilson in action for the 1500 and 400 events respectively. Makayla Webb and Childs are both set to compete in the 100 and 400-hurdles for SJSU.
Nicole Iloanya heads into the championship with the conference's best mark of the season in the triple jump at 12.79 meters. Iloanya's mark came at the Longhorn Invitational (5/2) and she was named the Mountain West Field Athlete of the Week following her performance.
Cambree Harbaugh will join Iloanya in the triple jump and also compete in the long jump alongside, Childs, Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw and Leah Lambert. Emma Sutherland will represent the Spartans in the high jump.
The championships conclude Saturday afternoon with the 4x400 relay.
There are 11 women's teams competing in the championships including two-time defending champion and host, San Diego State.
