May 4, 2015

Indianapolis, Ind. --- For the third consecutive year, San José State men's golfer Cody Blick has been selected to play as an individual in the NCAA Men's Golf Regional Championship. Six regional tournaments will be conducted nationally and Blick will compete May 14-16 at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

Blick will be among nine other individuals and 13 teams at the 54-hole regional championship. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championship conducted May 29-June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.

The junior from Danville, Calif., won two tournaments this season, giving him four career wins as a Spartan. His victory at the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational (10/25-27) included a school-record 10-under par 62 in the final round. His second victory came at the Bandon Dunes Championship (3/13-14).

Blick's 70.34 stroke average over 32 rounds led the team in 2014-15, and was the lowest of his career. His five-under-par 66 in the final round of the Mountain West Championship on May 3 was his 19th sub-par round of the year.

Throughout the season, Blick was ranked as high as 23rd in the nation in the Golfstat Cup standings. He is currently ranked 80th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).

In 2014, Blick finished tied for 39th place at the NCAA Regional Championship held at the Eugene Country Club. As a freshman, he finished tied for 50th at the NCAA Regional in Tempe, Ariz.
