Watch List

Houston, Texas----- Linebacker Christian Tago is the one San Jose State University football player listed on the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List.

Now in its 46th year, the Award recognizes college football's top player on either offense or defense who lines up normally no farther than 10 yards to the left or right from the ball or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. This year's Watch List contains 145 players.

A junior in 2015, Tago is San José State's top returning tackler. He was credited with 96 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss as a sophomore. The 2014 honorable mention All-Mountain West selection enters the upcoming season with 196 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss in his two seasons.

The winner of the 46th Rotary Lombardi Award will be announced on December 9.

Tago is the third Spartan named to a preseason awards Watch List. Running back Tyler Ervin and tight end Billy Freeman were named to the Paul Hornung Award and John Mackey Award Watch Lists, respectively.
