Reno, Nev.-The San José State volleyball team recorded a season-low 25 kills in a 3-0 loss at Nevada Wednesday night in a Mountain West match at the Virginia Street Gym.
Sara Hibbs led the Spartans with eight kills, while three others had five kills - Tyanna Roy, Nandyala Gama and Giulia Gávio. The Spartans hit just .033 for the match with 25 kills on 90 attempts and 22 errors.
The Spartans were also outblocked 7-2 by Nevada. Hibbs had a solo block, while Gama and Mariana Mantellato combined for the other block.
Yavianliz Rosado led the team with 14 digs and a service ace. Allison Meehan recorded 11 assists, while Mantellato added 10 assists.
San José State is now 13-17 on the season and 5-12 in the Mountain West. The Spartans finish the 2015 at home this Saturday against San Diego State. First serve is set for 1 p.m., inside Spartan Gym. Seniors Allison Meehan and Tyanna Roy will be honored after the match.
